History
1976
The club was established by Molly Rodgers with a group of parents to provide netball for girls to play out of school. Parents were initially requested to assist with netball at the local primary schools. The Rossmoyne Primary Head Mistress suggested establishing a club as the interest in netball grew.
Molly was asked by the other parents to be President. They all contributed considerable effort to cover the formalities and practicalities of creating the Rossmoyne Netball Club. In the second year Faye Morgan became Secretary and the Hon. Clive Griffiths, was approached to be Club Patron.
The games were played at Gibson Park, Fremantle, continuing from where the Primary School teams had played, although now as a community club.
Next the high school age girls wished to join and they first trained at Mt Pleasant High School to have use of the lights for night training.
In those first 6 years, the club grew to over 220 players with 25 teams.
In the meantime the Shelley Reserve was being developed for the local Football Club.
1981
During this time Molly Rodgers and the committee teamed up with the football club to approach the Canning Council for grounds and facilities of their own, rather than using school sites. A “Steering Committee” was developed. The Council’s assistance was finally achieved and resulted in clubrooms, a netball shelter (built thanks to Ross Chamberlain and friends) and lights installed. A condition to the provision of the facilities was that the netball club was required to play at Canning Districts Association at Hedley Park, Bentley. In time, the decision would be made to move some teams to Matthews (Perth) and then Fremantle Association for improved competition.
All this was being done alongside the regular roles of providing club sport. Good sportsmanship was always the message, and at that time in the form of being “good sports on court”!!
A uniform addition was a light grey tracksuit top with club emblem ($12 ea).
“Thank you” to the Hicks Family for being overseers and ‘on hand’ as minders for the courts at Koolan Drive for so many years.

Another year where we have 24 teams! The season commenced welcoming the new committee with new ideas. Committee meetings have returned to being held at the football club hall. Notably significant sponsorship has been achieved, along with commitment from the City of Canning, for surfacing and lights for 2 more courts at the Koolan Drive training ground. The website has been further developed to assist with resource information and the efficiency of running the club. Congratulations to all, as well as the 6 Premiership teams out of 8 playing at the Grand Final - a very successful year!
